Lecturers and students of the Interior Design Study Program participated in the collaborative PKM between Universitas Trisakti and Pegadaian.

Universitas Trisakti, in collaboration with Pegadaian, organized a Community Service Program (PkM) on January 14 and 15, 2024. Held in Sidamukti Village, Pandeglang, Banten, the PkM focused on the main theme of “Education and Environmental Cleanliness Assistance Through Waste Management to Increase Economic Value.” Two representatives from the Interior Design Study Program participated in the PkM: Layla Nurina Kartika Iskandar, S.Ds., M.Ds. (lecturer), and Salsabila Al Zahra (student).

During the PkM, participants were divided into three teams with different themes. Layla Nurina Kartika Iskandar, S.Ds., M.Ds., and Salsabila Al Zahra joined the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) team, which chose the theme “Managing Shell Waste Into Artistic and Economic Value Products.” The FSRD team, along with Pegadaian, provided training and assistance to the community on waste processing, such as shell waste, so that it could be transformed into economically and artistically valuable products.

Over the two days of the PkM program, the team not only successfully created artistic products and economically valuable items but also cleaned the environment around Sidamukti Village. This PkM program helped the community improve their economic livelihoods and supported environmental sustainability. The Trisakti University team raised awareness among the community about the importance of environmental cleanliness and proper waste management. Thus, the program not only inspired innovation and local economic development but also provided education on maintaining environmental cleanliness.
